The 30 Day Blog Boost

Artist, Maker, and Designer Edition

A five week online course wth Megan Auman of Designing an MBA.

The 30 Day Blog Boost

You’ve probably heard by now that blogging is a great way to increase traffic to your site and engage with your audience. But as an artist, maker, or designer, it’s probably one of the last things you feel like doing for your business. Whether it’s struggling to come up with content ideas or battling those feelings of “but I’m not a good writer,” I know that blogging for your business can feel overwhelming and frustrating.

But here’s the good news. It doesn’t have to be that way!

The reason you’ve been struggling to blog is that, as an artist, maker, or designer, you’ve been taught blogging all wrong. An effective artist, maker, or designer blog isn’t about writing or coming up with “useful content.” Instead, your blog should be all about the images!

How do I know? As an artist and maker myself, I’ve “written" over 1,200 blog posts over the last 12 years, and they’ve almost all been focused on sharing great images of my products, art, and behind the scenes of my business! It’s these images on my blog that have helped me establish my business, drive massive traffic from Pinterest, connect with customers, and sell more products.

Still, even if you KNOW that your blog should be all about the images, you’re probably still facing some serious resistance to actually getting those posts done. And that’s why I created The 30 Day Blog Boost (Artist, Maker, and Designer edition)!

Over five weekly lessons, I’ll walk you through five (easy and effective) types of blog content you can create for your blog. (Often in under 15 minutes!) These are the same types of content that I use on my own blog to promote my creative business. This class isn’t theory! It’s designed for you to work right along with me to create at least one blog post every week.

And the best part? You can revisit these content types again and again to create hundreds of blog posts year after year.

The 30 Day Blog Boost is one part marketing, one part product photography. Not only will you learn the types of posts that you should be sharing on your blog, but I’ll show you all my tips and tricks for getting great images of your products or art - whether you’re shooting on your smart phone or DSLR!

Whether you’ve been letting your blog languish or you’re just getting started (and even if you don’t have a blog set up yet), The 30 Day Blog Boost is the kick in the pants you need to start sharing more of your work online! (And it’s also perfect if you’re ready to spend less time sharing on Instagram in favor of a platform where you’re in control!)

Hi, I'm Megan Auman, designer, metalsmith, and educator!

Megan Auman - online jewelry design class

I've spent years studying and experimenting to find the best ways of marketing my business online, and time and time again, I always come back to my blog. I've published over 1,200 blog posts in the last 12 years, and in that time, I've learned a lot about what does and doesn't work when it comes to blogging about your art or products.

And in The 30 Day Blog Boost, I'm sharing that all with you! Plus, I'll be giving you weekly challenges so you actually take action on what you're learning!

In The 30 Day Blog Boost, you'll....

  • Learn the key types of content (that means images) that work best for artist, maker, and designer blogs.
  • Learn to use images you already have (the ones you create for social media and the ones just hiding on your phone) to create more blog posts in less time.
  • Tips and tricks to create even more photo you can use on your blog.
  • The accountability and motivation to create at least one blog every week during the course.
  • And so much more!

Best of all, you'll be guided by an artist and maker who has used her blog to promote her business for over a decade!

creating images for your blog

Frequently Asked Questions:

How is this different than your blogging class on Creative Live?

This class is all about action! Every week, I'll be giving you a specific content prompt and showing you how to make that work for your art or products. I'll give you lots of examples as well as walk you through my own image creation strategy. Plus, you'll have the accountability of weekly lessons (plus a special class challenge) to make sure you actually do the work!

Does it matter what part of the world I'm in?

Nope! You can take this class from anywhere as long as you have Internet access that allows you to stream data. I chose a time for the live lessons that should work fairly well if you’re in the US, Canada, or Europe (or if you’re a night owl in Australia) but all the lessons are recorded, so you can watch them at a time that’s convenient for you!

What do I need to access the lessons?

You will need a computer or mobile device with Internet. (While you can watch the lessons on your phone, I’d recommend a computer or tablet so you can see the content a little better!) All lessons are conducted via Crowdcast, which also has a mobile app you can use to access content.

How long will each lesson last?

Each lesson will last around 60-90 minutes, though they could go a little longer depending on questions from the group. The max any lesson will go is 2 hours.

How long will I have access to the material?

You’ll have access to all the recordings and resources for a minimum of one year after the class wraps! (Perfect if you get a little behind or want to revisit the course material later.)

What happens if I can't make a class live?

No worries! I know sometimes life gets in the way or you have other commitments. (Or maybe you’re going on vacation - lucky you!) All the lessons will be recorded so you can watch at any time, and you’ll have the ability to submit questions in advance before each lesson.

Who is this class for?

This class is for artists, makers, and designers who want to promote their products or art sales online.

What do I need to take advantage of this class?

You need a website where you sell your products (Etsy is ok, though you'll get more out of it if you have your own site). Don't worry if you don't yet have a blog. As a student in the class, you'll recieve a special bonus training (on Thursday, June 27th) that will teach you how to set up your blog if you don't already have one!

Will you be running this class again?

Yes, but not until 2020. This is the only time I’ll be running the class in 2019. So if this is something you’re interested in learning this year, I’d suggest enrolling for the class and archiving all the content so you can go through it at a time that’s convenient for you. (You'll have access to all the course content for at least one year, so there's no rush to get through it!)

How are payments handled?

You can pay securely using your credit card or PayPal. For the payment plan option, you must use a credit card.

If you are opting for the payment plan, your first payment will be charged immediately, the second one month later, and the third and final payment will be one month after that.

Have other questions? Still wondering if this class is right for you?

Feel free to shoot me an email at megan@craftmba.com with your questions! I’m happy to answer them!
