You’ve probably heard by now that blogging is a great way to increase traffic to your site and engage with your audience. But as an artist, maker, or designer, it’s probably one of the last things you feel like doing for your business. Whether it’s struggling to come up with content ideas or battling those feelings of “but I’m not a good writer,” I know that blogging for your business can feel overwhelming and frustrating.
But here’s the good news. It doesn’t have to be that way!
The reason you’ve been struggling to blog is that, as an artist, maker, or designer, you’ve been taught blogging all wrong. An effective artist, maker, or designer blog isn’t about writing or coming up with “useful content.” Instead, your blog should be all about the images!
How do I know? As an artist and maker myself, I’ve “written" over 1,200 blog posts over the last 12 years, and they’ve almost all been focused on sharing great images of my products, art, and behind the scenes of my business! It’s these images on my blog that have helped me establish my business, drive massive traffic from Pinterest, connect with customers, and sell more products.

How is this different than your blogging class on Creative Live?
This class is all about action! Every week, I'll be giving you a specific content prompt and showing you how to make that work for your art or products. I'll give you lots of examples as well as walk you through my own image creation strategy. Plus, you'll have the accountability of weekly lessons (plus a special class challenge) to make sure you actually do the work!
Does it matter what part of the world I'm in?
Nope! You can take this class from anywhere as long as you have Internet access that allows you to stream data. I chose a time for the live lessons that should work fairly well if you’re in the US, Canada, or Europe (or if you’re a night owl in Australia) but all the lessons are recorded, so you can watch them at a time that’s convenient for you!
What do I need to access the lessons?
You will need a computer or mobile device with Internet. (While you can watch the lessons on your phone, I’d recommend a computer or tablet so you can see the content a little better!) All lessons are conducted via Crowdcast, which also has a mobile app you can use to access content.
How long will each lesson last?
Each lesson will last around 60-90 minutes, though they could go a little longer depending on questions from the group. The max any lesson will go is 2 hours.
How long will I have access to the material?
You’ll have access to all the recordings and resources for a minimum of one year after the class wraps! (Perfect if you get a little behind or want to revisit the course material later.)
What happens if I can't make a class live?
No worries! I know sometimes life gets in the way or you have other commitments. (Or maybe you’re going on vacation - lucky you!) All the lessons will be recorded so you can watch at any time, and you’ll have the ability to submit questions in advance before each lesson.
Who is this class for?
This class is for artists, makers, and designers who want to promote their products or art sales online.
What do I need to take advantage of this class?
You need a website where you sell your products (Etsy is ok, though you'll get more out of it if you have your own site). Don't worry if you don't yet have a blog. As a student in the class, you'll recieve a special bonus training (on Thursday, June 27th) that will teach you how to set up your blog if you don't already have one!
Will you be running this class again?
Yes, but not until 2020. This is the only time I’ll be running the class in 2019. So if this is something you’re interested in learning this year, I’d suggest enrolling for the class and archiving all the content so you can go through it at a time that’s convenient for you. (You'll have access to all the course content for at least one year, so there's no rush to get through it!)
How are payments handled?
You can pay securely using your credit card or PayPal. For the payment plan option, you must use a credit card.
If you are opting for the payment plan, your first payment will be charged immediately, the second one month later, and the third and final payment will be one month after that.
